HOW HOOF IMBALANCE AFFECTS DYNAMIC TIMING OF STRIDE
4 YEAR OLD ARAB SHOD ALL ROUND.
HOOVES DISPLAYING GOUGE MARKS ON DORSAL WALL OF BOTH HINDS.
VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN RIGHT HIND ELEVATED. UNEVEN MUSCLE/PELVIC ALIGHNMENT - LOWER LEFT SIDE
HOOVES SHOWING START OF UNDER RUN HEELS AND CONTRACTION
HOOVES ARE OUT OF BALANCE ON ALL PLANES AFFECTING DYNAMIC TIMING OF STRIDE RESULTING IN POSTURAL CHANGES, UNEVEN MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT AND DISCOMFORT EVIDENCED BY GOUGING OF DORSAL WALL OF BOTH HINDS DUE TO CLASHING WITH BACK OF FRONT SHOES.
OVER-REACHING CAN BE HEARD DURING WALK AND TROT
ONCE SHOES ARE REMOVED HOOVES ARE RELATIVELY HEALTHY.AND HORSE EXPERIENCED IMMEDIATE IMPROVEMENT TO POSTURE AND DYNAMIC TIMING OF STRIDE WITH NO EVIDENCE OF OVER-REACH AND IMPROVEMENT HAS CONTINUED TO DATE.
AS POSTURAL DISCOMFORT IS ADDRESSED USING OSTEOPATHY/CHIRO ETC., HOOF STRUCTURES CONTINUE TO IMPROVE WITH A CONDITIONING PROGRAM AIMING TO COMMENCE COMPETING AT ENDURANCE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
LEFT FRONT - BEFORE AND AFTER FIRST VISIT AND TRIM
THERE IS A DETERIORATION OF UNGULAR CARTILAGE RESULTING IN THE START OF CONTRACTED AND UNDER-RUN HEELS. A LIGHT STRESS RING AND DIP IN THE OUTER WALL IS DISPLAYED AS A RESULT OF EXCESSIVE TOE FLARE/LENGTH AND INCREASED LOAD DURING BREAK-OVER AFFECTING TIMING OF STRIDE.
LEFT HIND AFTER FIRST VISIT AND TRIM
RIGHT HIND PHOTO TAKEN AFTER 2ND VISIT APPROX 5 WEEKS LATER
YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE GOUGING OF DORSAL WALL AND AS WITH FRONTS, EXCESSIVE TOE FLARE AND IMBALANCE.
