Allow at least 2 hours for the first visit, follow up visits will become shorter as the horse progresses.
A clean, level area in which the horse can be worked on, as well as walked, and trotted up will be required.
The structures will be fully assessed to establish the overall health of the feet and identify andy problems that need to be addressed. The horse's health, environment, nutrition and exercise will also be discussed.
If appropriate the HPT Method will be applied. The feet are then measured and photographed to allow accurate record keeping and to be able to monitor progress.
As the owner you will always need to be present during a visit.
You will be expected to present your horse with clean, dry hooves in a safe and practical environment.
In order to achieve the best results for your horse an open and honest relationship will be essential at all times between the owner and DAEP.
